Ardently Green in partnership with Groundswell is weatherizing DC homes, which in turn will save homeowners up to 20 - 30% on their energy bills and offset 3,645 metric tons of carbon. Home weatherization not only reduces homeowner monthly bills, it is one of the most effective strategies in arresting climate change. While inefficient homes contribute over 20 percent of the nation’s carbon pollution and upgrades can quickly save residents money in the form of energy bills, less than 5 percent of these 130 million homes have undergone an energy efficient retrofit, or weatherization.

Launched in September 2009, Groundswell is the nation’s most robust community engagement campaign around home efficiency, proving that it's really possible to save homeowners money while taking action on climate change and creating good green jobs. Groundswell views home weatherization as the linchpin of a revitalized community and a model green city for families, businesses and the environment.
